When creating this calendar for my typography class, I had to limit myself to mostly using type and using not too many colors. I decided to go with a mostly black design with contrasting white text, and red accents for additional flair. The design is relatively simple, but the typeface chosen helps elevate it and provide it with a sense of elegance. The use of negative space in the calendar helps keep everything simple and neatly confined in a roughly square area, and the red numbers highlighting the 21st help draw the viewers eye to it and indicate that it is important.
